Where were you born, raised and grow up?
I was born in Pensacola, FL and lived in Mobile, AL and Panama City, FL until 13 years of age. We then moved to Edenton, NC where I finished school. I consider this house since my household is still there but I have actually remained in Raleigh, NC because 1985.
As a child did you do anything that assisted or uses to your trade? If not, what can you inform readers about yourself as a kid?
At a young age my dad would take my brother and I on walks and explore the outdoors. Wildlife has constantly been my passion given that this time.
What are your preferred pastimes and activities? Do you have any accomplishments or notable accolades in any of these activities?
A lot of activities and pastimes revolve around the outdoors. I donate my time and materials to Wildlife Welfare. I also delight in saltwater fishing and coastal areas.
Family details and activity involvement (spouse, kids, little league coach etc.). Possibly how they assist with the business
My other half runs the office. She is a retired teacher and helps with all of the office duties and billing. Without her doing these duties the company would not survive.
Do you have any family pets?
We have 2 pets. A 15 years of age Basset hound (Rudy) and a 13 year old lab mix rescue (Woodrow).
Business Vision & Philosophy (construct empathy with your customer) What are your objectives with the business, why do you enjoy doing what you do, perhaps a story of your sacrifice & humble beginnings that have brought your business to where it is now?
My vision in 1990 was to offer aid to wildlife when there was a conflict with people. All of the people that work here have a fondness for wildlife and outside activities.
What life adversity have you faced that has defined who you are?
The most significant adversity has actually been working 7 days a week for years. I have a very hard time relaxing or being idle.
Inform me about a time when you have actually faced something challenging on the task and what you did to overcome it. (If absolutely nothing, tell me about your favorite job performed in the previous or both!).
My preferred job was when a pet shopkeeper could not afford lease any longer and released all of the animals inside the store. We searched numerous hours in the ceilings for the large snakes in the connecting stores. We got rid of all kinds of exotic animals.
Company Timeline (beginning, partnerships, place modifications, addition of technicians, growth etc.).
Triangle Wildlife Removal, Inc. was started in January 1996. We started offering traditional pest control services in 2003. We presently have 20 employees and are looking for continued development.
When did you get associated with the industry and what is the story of how you got going doing this professionally.
I got associated with this industry part-time in 1990 after graduating college with a degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from NC State. I worked strictly off of referrals and word of mouth. I worked nights at UPS while in college and after graduation. In 1995 I started putting together a company to prepare for Triangle Wildlife Removal as complete time employment.
What makes you a specialist in your subject area (accreditations, training, industry associations, awards, affiliations, licensing, degrees and so on).
I am licensed by the Dept. of Agriculture in structural pest control and also by the NC Wildlife Resources Commission as an animal troubleshooting agent. I have a bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Management from North Carolina State. I have likewise worked with North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission and Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife.
